Broken bones and eating worms

Okay I'm kidding! he he, no one broke any bones, but we did have some interesting situations this week!!! Don't worry, nothing involving me!

Okay so first things first, so today I had to drop off Elder Mpiyakhe at the mission home, as he is staying overnight there, he's going home tomorrow!!!! He's very excited, been having some funny dreams though ;)
But yes, while we were there, I went into the office and they were busy getting everything ready for the transfers, aaaannnndddd I go in and there is my package waiting for me!!!! YAY! So I have it, but not yet opened it!! Looking forward to opening it.

My birthday was pretty good! Pretty standard day in terms of missionary work, but it was nice. Had cake a couple of times, I had to buy it myself!!!! But it was cool, got a song from the mission president, didn't break anything like last year!! Got given a birthday present, when I told one of the investigators that it was my birthday, she disappeared and then re-appeared with a tie as a gift! It's a really nice sock tie! And then to top it all off, we went to the Robbins for dinner! They bought take-away fish and chips and we had cake too! It was lovely! They almost cancelled, but said that they stuck it out for me, so I was very happy!

Transfers also this week! My companions last week was okay, he survived, but is looking forward to going home! My new companion is Elder Chirwa! I know him, he was in my first district, first time I've known my companion beforehand!! Only 2 transfers older than me, so he goes home in 2 transfers, which I think means that I might leave after this one, but it's too early to tell!

Looking forward to it. They are also closing one of the areas in the zone, so now, because it is smaller, they have given us 2 of the mission dependent areas, Nelspruit and KaNyamazne! Which means that the Kruger National Park is now in our Zone!!! So we might go there sometime this transfer ;)

All of our investigators are doing well! Liza, the woman who was meant to be baptized but then disappeared day of the interview because she broke up with her less-active boyfriend has returned!! Turns out she went to Cape Town for a couple of days, but is back and wants to get baptized! So hopefully we will meet with her soon!
Millicent is doing awesome, she had a great experience with repentance, and she is probably going to be baptized soon
River, the 9 year old kid also got baptized! It was an interesting service, but it all went well! Lot's of people attended!

Speaking of Millicent, when we went for our appointment on Thursday, as we are going in the gate she calls us and asks if we eat garlic, we say yes, thinking that she is making us dinner.... turns out she made us Mopani Worms!!!! I have asked a couple of times for people to make them, but it never happened.... well this time it did!! They were there! So we had to eat them! And we did!! Interestingly enough.... it was scary, but they actually weren't too bad!! Tasted much like dried fish..... except for the little spikes on them which were a little painful and then also when you bite the head, but it was cool!!!! So I've eaten what I need to eat!!!

Got to go to the temple on Friday, after last week's mishap, it was awesome!!
Then we went to a philly cheesestake restaurant. It was delicious!! Similar to subway. But while we were there we had a lesson with the people opposite!! And it really only came from natural conversation! It helps when you are dressed like a missionary!!

Saturday was a disaster!! We went early in the morning to play football with the zone and with some members and investigators there, I was the goalie and was awesome!! But Both Elder Wilcox and Mpiyakhe hurt themselves!! Elder Wilcox thought he'd broken his leg!! So we spent the whole day dropping their car off, other elders, taking him to the hospital and then coming home during rush hour! Turns out he hadn't broken it! Just hurt the muscle!! So yeah!!!!

That's about it for this week!

Anyway, love you all

Last birthday on my mission

Today is my companions last Monday, it's his last week on his mission.

This last week first off was Zone Conference. Got to go down and see some more Elders there, especially people that I know.

It was a very good Zone Conference, pretty informative! So yeah!

I received some more mail there too. I think I have received Birthday cards from all sides of the family now!

It's just going to be a normal day tomorrow, although we are going to the Robbins tomorrow for dinner, they are going to feed us so I am looking forward to that. Made a commitment to myself to feed the missionaries when I get a house of my own ;)

No sign of the Birthday package yet :3 but I will know as soon as it comes, so hopefully it will come sometime this week so I can pick it up for transfers next week!

We were meant to have a temple trip this week, but the morning of they cancelled, because the temple has had no water and they have used up all their reserves! But thankfully they have scheduled it again for this week
Also on Friday, one of the great things that I was able to do was we went on exchanges, and I was able to go back to Birch Acres! My old area! It was awesome, got to see quite a few of the members there!!

Especially this one family! The Mashego's. They are a wonderful family and I got really close to them while I was in Birch Acres, so it was amazing to go back and see them again, they were very happy to see me! The reaction on people's faces when they see you after such a long time is just amazing and priceless! I love it!

Might try and drag Kieran on a mission tour holiday some time in the future

Sunday was an interesting day. We had only 4 investigators at church, and since we cover 2 wards, one of them was the only one, so we go to gospel principles, and she is the only one there! So we let her go to YSA and she really enjoyed it. Her name is Millicent and the way she found the gospel is just like a general conference talk. She found a Book of Mormon wrapped up, couple of months later she was cleaning out and took it home, read it, and then finally met with the missionaries after the missionaries started teaching one of her friends! We had a really powerful lesson with her this week, talked about repentance and it was interesting, because we taught the lesson we planned, but it was evident on her face that something was weighing on her. And so we were able to help her resolve it!

That's it!

Love you lots
