One of the Elders in the district went home this week on Wednesday. Took him to the office, he went home, picked up Elder Thompson's new companion. His new companion is actually from England!! He's from down near Plymouth! So it's very nice to have a person from England! He's a cool guy.
We had a couple of miracles this week, it was actually the same miracle repeated. Our appointment dropped but I looked around and saw a house with the burglar bar door open, so I knew someone was home. So I grab a pamphlet and knock on the door, All I said was literally: "Hello, my name is Elder Jorgensen, this is my companion Elder Ansumana" And the guy was like: "Yeah come on in guys" I was amazed! Taught a lesson and got a return appointment. Got 4 new investigators that way!
Had an opposite experience. Went to an investigator, and discovered that they were painting and cleaning up their yard, so we helped out for a couple of hours. Then as we sit down for a drink but before we can say much one of them pulls out a bunch of weed and starts rolling a joint. So we politely excuse ourselves and make another appointment! He he
Had a funny experience when we a driving around trying to find an less actives house. We drive past this group of people drinking, and on the third time I stop the car get out and decide to contact them. I made 2 appointments! The first fell through, apparently he doesn't live where he said. But the second, a young girl called Nkosazana, we go to the house and a lady is in the yard, we ask for the girl and she looks really angry and startled! She asks what it's for and we say Church. She gets confused and go's in the house and starts talking Zulu. The member that is with us translates and they basically were saying that she was really surprised that we actually came!
So that was funny!
In terms of mail, I have a package waiting for me at the office which I'm going to pick up tomorrow!
And everybody else gets like hardly any mail! I get like 4 or 5 letters every time so it's funny :)
Oh, and on Thursday, I've been invited to the sealing in the temple of the Robbins! That was my first baptism in my first area!! Yeah they're getting sealed on Thursday, and Sidney knows President Dunn, so he got permission for us to come! So very excited for that!!
Also found out that my release date is the 14th of November 2017!
