Thinking about it this is only the first week of the transfer but it feels like I've been here forever, but my mission is still accelerating, in a way, I am happy that it is slower so I can enjoy it more, and it's a scary feeling about coming home! I love my mission so much. So I think I will enjoy it as much as I can now and then come home happy and enjoy home too!
It's starting to get really hot here now! But the rain is still coming and today is nice and overcast, which I'm not complaining about! The rain is funny. For me it rains, but the air is still warm so I can handle it, doesn't bother me too much but for most of the other people, especially the African's it's not very nice!
Saturday was the most interesting day! All of our appointments fell through bar 1! So we spent a lot of the day driving around looking for people! And the one investigator that we saw is going to Limpopo for the Summer! Although we managed to teach the whole restoration she understood and accepted and an invitation to be baptized! We just need to make sure we don't loose her!
So something funny that happened this week was that on Saturday as well we scheduled to have a correlation with one of the bishopric (they're busy getting us a new ward mission leader) at 5. So we show up at the chapel and he isn't there.
Anyway, we wait for an hour and a half for this guy and he doesn't show. So we go to a members house where we'd seen him earlier, turns out they were having a primary meeting (his wife is a teacher) and dinner, and it had started late, but didn't notify us! Anyway, in the end, we eventually have it and it actually turns out to be quite productive!
So there are 6 of us. In Glen Ridge there is me and Elder Ansumana (3 months)), in Protea Glenn there is Elder Thompson (7 months) and Elder Rash (7 weeks)) and in Pimville there is Elder Allen (19 months) and Elder Muriwa (6 months) ) So I'm the second oldest in the District!
In Protea Glenn they are both hard working and obedient and it's funny because now I see how it works that those who are doing the right thing and are good you can just leave them be and they get things done!
Pimville are okay, it's just small things that I need to relax about just let them do it, lead by example (like they don't wear their bike helmets, and sometimes we have to be nudging them out the flat) but it's okay, nothing terrible!
Planning District Meetings can be challenging actually but getting used to it. But it seems to be going okay, I try to be relaxed and gain their trust so we'll see how it goes!
My favorite district has actually been my last one before this. Me, Elder Stevenson, Elder Musiiwa and Elder Nielsen. In all, there were only 2 transfers apart between all 4 of us, and we were biking so we saw those guys every day and spent p-day together, it was great!
And then on Sunday as well we had a special stake conference where we had a visit from Elder D Todd Christofferson! Again!! My second time seeing him! he he very funny. But it was actually a great meeting, he gave such a powerful talk and it was really inspirational! You could really feel the spirit while he was giving his talk! So it was awesome! I learned a lot!
I got to see some of my MTC teachers there and even President Dunn came with the APs. And then they left for Bedfordview straight after and the APs were stranded! So I had to give them a lift back to the mission home! he he.
During the beginning, I was outside helping by marshaling cars! It was funny to see that some people just completely ignored my directions, I was like no it's fine :)
The main thing was to not let people park on the ramps (onto the grass for extra parking) and it happened 3 times! I had to ask people to move! Ah!!
So that was my week :)
I love you lots and hope all is well!
Jack
